We undertake
legal aid work in all criminal cases, as well as privately paid work for
clients who may not qualify for legal aid
We no longer undertake
most civil Court actions under the Legal Aid Scheme. There is a
small number of cases where we do still conduct litigations under
Civil Legal aid, such as variations of existing Court Orders,
Anti-Social Behaviour Order cases and cases under the Proceeds of
Crime Act.
However many disputes can be resolved
as the result of negotiation or representations, without having to
proceed to Court, and we still deal with such cases under the Legal
Advice and Assistance Scheme.
