Legal Services - General Civil

Our civil solicitors undertake a wide variety of court work including, but not limited to, Dispute Resolution, Interdicts, Non-harassment Orders, Neighbour Disputes, Settlement Agreements, Civic Government Appeals, Criminal Injuries Compensation, Housing Matters. We are also able to provide a full Notary Public service to administer oaths and certify documents.

we are experienced in pursuing or defending debt cases in the Sheriff Court, and also taking steps to enforce court orders after they are granted, usually with the assistance of sheriff officers. In some instances, disputes about debts can be resolved by negotiation by us, without incurring, the worry and expense of proceeding to court. If, however, proceedings are necessary, we can provide advice about the prospects of recovering – or sometimes being liable for – court expenses.
We are experienced in dealing with situations where you are being subjected to unreasonable, behaviour or harassment by others. Some cases may be necessary to seek the protection of orders of interdict (Scottish version of English injunction) or non-harassment. In other cases, you might wish to defend such proceedings. We can advise you about the implications of such proceedings and consequences for breaches of any such court orders.
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme is provided by the government to financially compensate innocent victims of violent crimes. The size of the award varies to reflect the seriousness of the injury and also take into account any financial losses suffered. Not all applicants will qualify and there is a discount system applied in circumstances where the applicant has a criminal record. If you have been the victim of a crime please contact us and we can take you through the process and assist with making a claim on your behalf.
